To someone with schizophrenia, the brain is over-stimulated. Emotions, ideas\r\nand the makeup of personality clash, rendering the individual helpless to achieve\r\npeace of mind. That more or less describes the state of the progressive movements in\r\nthe US at this writing as well.

\r\n\r\nThe media that progressives are exposed to isn't simply skewing debate and\r\nfavoring powerful institutions. It is also successfully indoctrinating the\r\nanti-war movement. PsyOps is being waged on\r\nall of us, in a wide variety of areas and scope. As a result the US progressive community\r\nis too indoctrinated to understand how to effectively fight the menace in\r\nWashington.


\r\n\r\nInauguration PsyOps
\r\n\r\nThe day (1\/21\/05) after George Bush's inauguration for a second term the\r\nWashington Post<\/b> published a photograph (in its print edition)\r\ndepicting the swearing-in ceremony from an aerial view. The Post<\/b>\r\nopenly admitted that the photo was doctored; i.e., the caption said it\r\nwas \"created by combining multiple digital images taken in\r\nsuccession\" (The Washington Post)<\/b>. When looking at the photo, it is\r\nquite obvious that the crowd size is wildly over-represented. For example, the\r\ngrandstand overflowing with people in the top left of the image doesn't look\r\nremotely real. So, not only is the Washington Post<\/b> publishing\r\ndoctored photos to elevate Bush's importance, but the fakery is obvious. In\r\naddition, the Post's<\/b> caption suggests the current editors\r\nfeel no reason to conceal its lack of objectivity when covering the\r\npublic rituals of the US government.

\r\n\r\nA similar view of the swearing-in scene appears in a very brief\r\nvideo clip that was aired by Democracy Now<\/b>\r\nin its post-Inaugural coverage (1\/21\/05). The crowd size looks significantly smaller\r\nthan what appears in the Washington Post's<\/b> image.\r\nThis episode of Democracy Now<\/b>, hosted (as ever) by the\r\nubiquitous Amy Goodman, is noteworthy for many reasons. For one, it opens with\r\nextended video clips of Bush at the Inauguration ceremony. Democracy Now<\/b>\r\nairs video clips of Bush that show him at his most confident and\r\nstatesmanlike, as he recites the oath of office and kisses his wife and two\r\npretty twin daughters.

\r\n\r\nHow does Democracy Now<\/b> continue to broadcast extended video\r\nclips that flatter powerful figures while still retaining its\r\nenormous stature within the progressive community? Later in the same\r\nepisode Democracy Now's<\/b> producer\/correspondent Jeremy Scahill\r\nexplains how the DN<\/b> crew managed to document\r\none of the most sensational episodes that took place throughout the busy day.\r\nScahill tells us that Democracy Now<\/b> \"got caught in some of the more violent\r\nexchanges that occurred...at the heart of the scene [between police and\r\ninaugural protesters]\". Scruffy and unflappable, Scahill\r\ndescribes how police employed pepper spray and metal whips against the\r\ndefenseless protesters. Scahill indicates that some of the Black Bloc\r\nprotesters were actually police infiltrators. Scahill concludes the curiously brief\r\nsegment with Democracy Now's<\/b> pledge to publish some of the\r\nphotographs of these police infiltrators. (At this writing only one photograph\r\nappears on the site, and the alleged infiltrator is hardly recognizable. Also,\r\nnone of the highly-charged photos show either him or Amy Goodman at the scene.)

\r\n\r\nWhy does DN<\/b> spend so much time in the beginning of its\r\nprogram (1\/21\/05) showing favorable video clips of Bush speaking at the\r\nInaugural ceremony? Why doesn't Democracy Now<\/b>\r\nlead instead with the story of how Goodman and Scahill risked their necks in order\r\nto witness the police attacking the street protesters?

\r\n\r\nOne explanation is that the entire street confrontation between the Black Bloc,\r\nthe police and the two Democracy Now<\/b> correspondents was staged. This\r\nwould enable Democracy Now<\/b> to begin its broadcast with video that\r\nmakes the President look good. Then to retain its credibility with the groups\r\nresisting Bush the street scene could have been acted out (with the cooperation of the DC police\r\nand a small crowd of actors.)

\r\n\r\nBecause of its track record no one should rule the\r\npossibility that this episode of Democracy Now<\/b> was a PsyOps\r\ncampaign. After all, the same program recently helped facilitate the\r\nelectoral coup d'etat of 2004 and\r\nthe subsequent massacre of Fallujah last November.


\r\n\r\n911 News Media Hoax
\r\n\r\n9\/11 was undoubtedly the greatest day of visual indoctrination in world history. The\r\nhorrific video footage of planes striking the World Trade Center was repeatedly\r\nbroadcast on television on 9\/11\/01 and seen by millions around the globe. In the\r\ndays that followed these clips were taken off the airwaves. They have hardly been\r\nseen on television since.

\r\n\r\nMeanwhile, a discussion has been raging on the Internet for the last several years\r\nabout whether this video was actually fake. One advocate of the idea that the planes shown on\r\ntelevision were not real is the Webfairy. She provides this pictorial representation\r\nto argue that the North Tower was not hit by an actual plane:

\r\n\r\n(The images come from the\r\ndocumentary '911', from\r\nGedeon and Jules Naudet. Note that the magnification increases as the\r\nsequence progresses. Also, note that a\r\nnew version of this footage has been\r\nrecently published.)

\r\n\r\nMost people can see that this\r\nblurry object\r\ncould not possibly be a Boeing 767 colliding with the North Tower. The\r\nanti-war movement needs to begin to visualize the considerable power behind\r\ncritically reintroducing the 9\/11 images. Within this video footage lies a\r\nunique opportunity to reverse the indoctrination of millions of people. Reexamining\r\nthe official story of 9\/11 could enable the Left to transcend political ideologies in order to\r\ngalvanize the masses like no other message the anti-war movement can offer.

\r\n\r\nThe incentive for attacking the official story of 9\/11 should be obvious. September\r\n11th has been employed as the catalyst for the Bush administration's imperialistic\r\nwars and domestic repression. The invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan, the\r\nUSA PATRIOT Act, the concentration camps at Guantanamo Bay, the creation of the\r\nDepartment of Homeland Security and the daily assault on civil liberties have\r\nall been accomplished by invoking the terror of 9\/11. Considering the\r\npropaganda benefit that 9\/11 is to the Bush Regime it behooves the\r\nanti-war movement to reexamine the video the TV networks aired that day.

\r\n\r\nWill the anti-war movement reverse its own indoctrination in time to stop\r\nthe Bush Regime? Stay tuned.\r\n
