Whereas the workers were too

fearful of their employer to organize publicly against this situation

before the store burned down, now they are demanding justice. So is

the surrounding Jewish community, which is becoming acutely outraged

as it learns of the sweatshop conditions that prevailed in this

workplace and the crass treatment of the storeowner to his newly

unemployed workers.

The Jewish community of the Pico-Robertson area and Progressive

Alliance, as well as other activists, have united with these workers,

who are scrambling to make ends meet, find other jobs and pay their

bills. WE WILL BE HOLDING PROTESTS EVERY THURSDAY AT 6:00PM, MEETING IN FRONT OF STARBUCKS AT PICO AND ROBERTSON AND MARCHING TO MILK 'N HONEY RESTAURANT (OWNED BY THE OWNERS OF GLATT MARKET) AT 8813 PICO BLVD.
