It is not unusual to drive or walk by these school construction sites to see a majority of Hispanics working on these construction sites. It has also been said that many of these construction workers are illegal aliens. At these school construction sites, you will rarely ever see an African American.

It is also known that African Americans are being denied access to the apprenticeship programs. These construction apprenticeship programs are training our future tradesmen.

We are setting up a letter writing campaign to the Los Angeles Unified School District to address this issue.

The letter will read something as follows:

Dear LAUSD Board Member:

This letter is being written in concern of the non-hiring of African Americans on the construction sites of the many schools that are being built in Los Angeles. We think that it is unfair, and we hope and want to see more minority African Amerians working on these school construction sites. Thank you very much.

Please email, fax, or write one or all of the seven members at:

Los Angeles Unified School District

BOARD OF EDUCATION

333 South Beaudry Avenue, 24th Floor

Los Angeles, CA 90017

Telephone: 213-241-6389

http://www.lausd.k12.ca.us/lausd/board/secretary/

The LAUSD Board Members are listed below:

MARGUERITE POINDEXTER LAMOTTE

School District 1

marguerite.lamotte@lausd.net

213-241-6382

213-241-8441 (Fax)

JOSE HUIZAR

School District 2

jose.huizar@lausd.net

213-241-6180

213-241-8459 (Fax)

JON LAURITZEN

School District 3

jon.lauritzen@lausd.net

213-241-6386

213-241-8979 (Fax)

MARLENE CANTER

School District 4

marlene.canter@lausd.net

213-241-6387

213-241-8453 (Fax)

DAVID TOKOFSKY

School District 5

david.tokofsky@lausd.net

213-241-6383

213-241-8467 (Fax)

JULIE KORENSTEIN

School District 6

julie.korenstein@lausd.net

213-241-6388

213-241-8451 (Fax)

MIKE LANSING

School District 7

mike.lansing@lausd.net

213-241-6385

213-241-8452 (Fax)

PatriciaMcAll@yahoo.com
http://www.genocideofafricanamericans.8m.com
P.O.
