\r\n <\/span><\/big> <\/div>\r\n <\/span><\/span>Jury selection for Starbucks vs\r\nReverend Billy will commence October 21st, as the coffee giant charges\r\nthe Reverend with Destruction of Property and disturbing the\r\ncaffeination of pseudo-bohemians.  A Cease and Desist Order\r\nalready enjoins Reverend Billy, aka Bill Talen, from \"disturbing,\r\nstalking, or sexually harassing\" the \"computerized cash registers\" of\r\nthe Starbucks Corporation.  This LA Superior Court ruling,\r\nspecifying a 250 yard \"No Billy Zone\" around all  Starbucks\r\nproperty in the State of California, banishes the New York City-based\r\nactivist from a land mass the size of the Island of Hawaii, and\r\neffectively eliminates passage through Los Angeles International\r\nAirport. Not satisfied, last Thursday Starbucks headquarters notified\r\nTalen of persona non grata status in \"all Starbucks facilities in the\r\nknown world.\"

\r\nThe trial will review a Church of Stop Shopping retail intervention on\r\nApril 19th, 2004 where Reverend Billy exorcised a Northridge Starbucks\r\ncash register. Allegedly, this ritualistic Laying on of Hands ripped\r\nthe machine's plastic spit guard and gouged the Reverend's palm. Over\r\n15 local activists and Stop Shopping Gospel Choir members claim witness\r\nto the holy roller's \"stigmata,\" but the Reverend himself refuses to\r\nconfirm if the wound bears mystical significance.

\r\nThe criminal complaint could result in 60 days in prison.  Art\r\nGoldberg of the Working People's Law Center, representing the Reverend,\r\nturned down the guilty plea offering of 24 hours in jail or 10 days\r\ncleaning Los Angeles city highways. A recent Nova Scotia study blamed\r\ncoffee cups for one-third of their highway litter.<\/span><\/span> <\/span>
