Ira Kurzban, the lawyer who represents President Jean Bertrand Aristide told \r\n Pacifica Radio KPFK \r\n Los Angeles Radio on March 2 that he had learned that the Central African \r\n Republic (CAR) has shut off President Aristide's phone service. He said that \r\n armed members of the French and CAR military are guarding President Aristide \r\n and he is not free to leave.<\/p>\r\n
Rebels began patrolling the capital as their leader Guy Philippe declared himself \r\n military chief and threatened to arrest the prime minister, raising fears of \r\n reprisals against supporters of ousted President Jean-Bertrand Aristide...<\/p>\r\n

We are calling for every conscious, peace and justice loving activists \r\n across the world, to go to your local Federal building, US, France, Central \r\n African Republic and Haiti embassies for emergency protest. Or call \r\n the White House, the State Department and your local representatives to denounce \r\n this U.S.-engineered coup.<\/p>\r\n
