Energy Independence.     \r\nMalcolm has to do another report for school.               \r\nPolitical candidates have been saying that we need a moon  \r\nmission right here on Earth to develop energy independence. \r\nThe solution that I am proposing is for American Voters    \r\nto require the U.S. congress to build new hydroelectric    \r\ndams and improve exsisting hydroelctric dams by increasing \r\nthe number of turbines and generators.                     \r\n I have questions about every major river in the United    \r\nStates .                                                   \r\n Is there still unregulated river FLOODING during the rainy \r\nseason ??                                                  \r\n Is the flow at the bottom of every dam at about the same  \r\naltitude as the resevoir of the next downstream dam ??     \r\n The previous questions can help point to locations for new  \r\ndams.                                                        \r\n In every exsisting hydroelectric dam does all of the water  \r\nflowing through that dam flow through hydroelectric turbines \r\non its way through the dam all year arround or is there water  \r\nwasted by flowing over a spillway at least during the rainy    \r\nseason ??                                                      \r\n Every hydroelectric dam deserves to have enough turbines      \r\nand generators added so that water will not have to be wasted  \r\nby flowing over the spillway even during the rainy season.     \r\nEven part time additional power is better that wasting water   \r\nby dumping it over a spillway.                                 \r\n Some turbines and generators are over a hundred years old. Is \r\nevery old hydroelectric turbine and old generator with rusty   \r\ncore pieces and cracked insulation and worn out brushes and    \r\nslip rings and commutators at least 95 per cent as efficient as \r\na new hydroelectric turbine and generator would be ??          \r\n Hydroelectric power is a non-polluting renewable energy source \r\nthat is renewed every rainy season. The fossil fuels will all   \r\nsoon run out so hydroelectric power is the only reliable source \r\nof electricity that can help future generations recieve power.  \r\n Please require congress to improve exsisting hydroelectric \r\ndams and construct additional hydroelectric dams instead of \r\nrequiring young men to register to be drafted into combat to \r\nfight for foreign fossil fuels that will run out very soon  \r\nanyway. \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nFIVEPHASE124\r\n Episode Stargate SG1. The Tokrah come through the stargate. They \r\nbring over a small generator. Oneil notices it has five phases \r\ninstead of 3. Then the Tokrah guy says that a five phase A.C.  \r\npower system is smoother than traditional 3 phase power. Then  \r\n they go                                                       \r\nthrough the stargate to visit the Tokrah homeworld. Over there \r\nthey have groups of five power lines on their power poles instead \r\nof groups of only 3 wires.                                     \r\n Then Carter comments that the Northeastern U.S. is considering \r\nrewiring its power grid. The Tokrah guy reccommends using five  \r\nphase power because it is smoother than 3 phase power. Emergency \r\npartial brownout performance is improved. On a 3 phase delta  \r\nconnection if one of the 3 phases opens up the remaining two  \r\n wires only                                                   \r\ncarry one phase and it is like trying to run a car on an enjine \r\nwith only one remaining cylinder. There is an inherent          \r\nunreliability in traditional 3 phase power grids. Five phase  \r\npower grids will provide a higher reliability network. \r\n  The Tokrah people use hydroelectric power as the only source \r\nof power. Every river has dams from the mountain snowpacks \r\nto the oceans on the Tokrah homeworld.  \r\nThe hydroelectric dams improve the environment.
