You have confirmed that I wasn't losing my mind.

I knew there had to be someone else out there noticing that the Emperor is giving the crowd just what they want. Bread and Circuses.

Keep in mind we are still in the minority even though we are screaming at the top of our lungs to be heard. Most people out there have simply lost their will to give a shit about the plight of their fellow man.

Tell me ... I've lost count: How many Somalias is this now? Where is the outrage from the American people and media, the outrage that was expressed so vehemently when our guys were dragged through the streets of Mogadishu? Where has it gone? Please tell me why a great number of people in our country seem to have grown numb and desensitized to a foreign policy of violence?

Could this be the reason?

There are a multitude of mixed messages being dispersed to the public by U.S. ministers of propaganda. The American people were encouraged, immediately after 9\/11, to hang flags to show their patriotic love for their country, and to honor those who tragically lost their lives. Grieve, go home and grieve ... but not for too long. You must show the terrorists that they didn't get to us, so go out and live your lives the way you did before. Spend money!

Mogadishu mobs drag the corpses of U.S. soldiers Bill Cleveland, Tommy Field, and Randy Shughart through the streets

(Somalia, 1993)

The next message was, be on the look out for terror. Be afraid ... but continue to live your lives, spend money. Be afraid, be alert ... but go back to work. Support the troops ... but don't read anything on the internet that would tell you we are losing our war on terror. Low interest rates are available on some new credit cards, so forget about it. Spend money.

Don't worry about those downed helicopters, blown up buildings, or dead and maimed soldiers. Pay no attention to it. Christmas is coming! Spend money, take Viagra, see a movie, buy a new car — with no payments till 2005 ...

U.S. troops drag the corpse of an un-named Vietcong soldier behind their tank

(Vietnam, 1966)

\tThe message from the White House, dispersed promptly by stenographer media, is: All you have to do is wave the flag, and by all means keep spending money that you really don't have. Don't worry ... be happy!

Whose Strength? Whose Honor?

I ask this question to those of you out there who think all this is just payback for 9\/11, and I know you're out there. I can hear your drums of war still beating. Tell me:

When is enough enough?

Or should we bring out the hard artillery, and just end it all? Would that satisfy you? When ten thousand of our bravest are slaughtered, and another eight thousand are maimed and sent home to be ignored by you, the flag-waving, money-spending patriots, will that be enough?

By being the trained seals that you are, you have helped place the very same troops you claim to support in harms way, with no shame and no guilt. Would twenty times as many dead and maimed help you armchair remote-control-holding mercenaries reach your wargasms?

To be continued, I'm sure ...

© 2003, by the author.

Comments? newsuneed@yahoo.com<\/a><\/p>\n","contact":"","link":"http:\/\/www.unknownnews.net\/031124a-kf.html","address":"","phone":"","parent_id":0,"mime_type":"text\/plain","summary":"There are a multitude of mixed messages being dispersed to the public by U.S. ministers of propaganda.
