It is almost impossible to get around greater LA without a car unless you are willing to do an awful lot of walking  - which an elderly person may not be able to do. Reports from eyewitnesses indicated that the driver 'gunned the engine' everytime he hit a tent or something that obstructed his vehicle.  People having heart attacks would not be able to drive straight for over two blocks.  \r\n\r\nWhen the driver got out of the car, he asked 'How many people did I hit?'  No drugs or alcohol in his system. \r\n\r\nThe street was due to be re-opened to 'normal' traffic ten minutes after the incident.
