Pesonally, I have never skateboarded. But, my older brother, made his first skateboard, by nailing the steel wheels from a rollerskate to a piece of 2x4. Actully, this was an evolution of sorts from the old scooter, that was a wooden crate, with a wooden handlebar, nailed to a 2x4, with parts of a rollerskate on the bottom. At some time the crate separated from a boy's scooter, leaving him on the "skate board". That was back in the mid-1960's, so, you can see how far technology and the spirit of iventiveness, can bring a sport.\r\n\r\nFast Foward to the present.\r\n\r\nOver time the modern boards were built, and skaters kept comming into the sport. That is not the problem.\r\n\r\nThe problems, came as property owners, kept suffering damages to their property, or personal injury lawsuits for injuries, to people using their property.\r\nProperty owners are involved in government, vote and attend city council meetings.\r\n\r\nAs I said above, "skateboarding is not a crime", but some skateborders damage property, tresspass, get injured, and perform unsafe acts. Play by the rules set by the city and and learn to win the game.\r\n\r\nLook, if you are young, and fearless, play football, and you'll get slammed, and might be lucky to snap your spine or break a bone. If you are not so inclined to atheletics, ask the head coach if he needs a manager on the sidelines, or join the school newspaper and take photos.
