Dear Friends:

We have recently learned that we have lost our last

court appeal. Many

of you are now aware of the work commencing by Catellus

Residential

Group moving forward on building 114 homes on the West

Bluffs. Our

attorney, Frank Angel is still owed $15,000 in legal

fees. He needs to

be paid for the work he has done. In order for us to

appeal to the

Supreme Court, Mr. Angel is discounting his usual

$10,000 fee to $5,000

bringing the total to $20,000. He needs this payment by

May 30, 2003 to

continue our fight or all is lost. This is a manageable

figure that can

be paid in the following way.

At this time I am accepting pledges only. When the

$20,000 figure is

reached, I will contact everyone and ask for your check,

credit card

information and any matching funds paperwork from your

employer. All

funds must be received no later than May 23, 2003 in

order to give

sufficient time for checks to clear the bank When I have

everything in

hand, I will either personally deliver all payments to

the attorney or

to B.E.E.P. If I get anything less than the $20,000, I

will refund all

monies I received. It's all or nothing. For those who

don't know,

B.E.E.P. is the Ballona Ecosystem Education Project.
