Hitler spoke of "the Fatherland" and of what was best for its security, including the detaining of citizens and others without charge, access to counsel, and with no appeal from the People's Court. He also formed the Sturmabtilung (SA), Shutzstaffel (SS), and Geheimstatsopolizie (Gestapo) to enforce government rule for the security of the state. Bush has signed executive orders that give him absolute power to control the Homeland for the sake of security. The US PATRIOT Act and the Homeland Security Act have given Bush the right to rule for an undefined period with broad powers unrestrained by law. To facilitate this, he has increased the powers of the FBI, CIA, NSA, etc. He now has Lex valeria and can rule unrestrained by law.
As if these comparisons are not troubling enough, look at the men behind Hitler and Bush: Heinrich Himmler and John Ashcroft, Joachim von Ribbentrop and Donald Rumsfeld, Ernst Rohm and Asa Hutchinson, Josef Goebbels and Karl Rove. I could continue.
Though not nearly so chilling as the comparisons between Bush and Hitler, there are also some contrasts that don't necessarily make Bush look any better. Hitler was decorated with the Iron Cross for bravery during WW I. Bush went AWOL from the Texas Air National Guard for more than a year. Hitler had an eidetic memory and (even if he had Hegel spinning in his grave) he had at least studied philosophy. Bush can't remember what he said at any given time and though his handlers tell us he gains inspiration from reading Aristotle, Toqueville and Emily Dickinson, my guess is he probably thinks Aristotle married Jackie Kennedy.
Hitler spoke excellent German. Bush is a master of butchering our beautiful language as when he said, "They have misunderestimated me." Perhaps we have, and that probably made him "furity" instead of furious. Many have said that he keeps his intelligence a secret, then it has to be the best kept secret since the allies cracked the German and Japanese codes during WW II.
There is one other difference. Hitler came to power from poverty. Bush said, "My grandfather made all the money. I didn't have to do anything." The irony is that Grandpa made all that money trading with Nazis
Grandpa made all that money trading with Nazis
Again, all together now Grandpa made all that money
trading with the Nazis..FOLLOW THE MONEY.
FYI - It is rumored that Mr. Bush has a private Hitler room, makes him feel real good.
