\r\nA few days after the end of the Gulf ground war, an \r\nIraqi soldier lies in the desert near where his convoy of vehicles \r\nwas bombed and strafed by Allied aircraft as the convoy attempted \r\nto retreat from Kuwait back to Iraq. This was a different and much \r\nless exposed convoy that was bombed, from the Mile of Death. This \r\nconvoy was on an obscure road to the north and east of Kuwait City. \r\nThis attack left most of the Iraqi soldiers in the convoy carbonized \r\nand their bodies were buried by Allied Forces at the end of the war. \r\n\r\n

\r\nTHE MAI LAI MASSACRE

Another woman\r\ntries to hold back the girl's distraught mother. When the\r\ntroops noticed Haeberle, the photographer, they stopped\r\nand turned away as if everything was normal.\r\n
