\r\n\r\nIt's late sunday evening. Tomorrow a new week begins, a week that might
\r\nend with WAR. I can feel the machines move out there. The monster ships
\r\nrolling on the high seas. Metal dragons flying across the sky. It has been
\r\nrough and unfair fight for peace, but I sincerely believe we have managed
\r\nto delay the WAR. We have in many ways won the first round, but anything
\r\nshort of continued inspections and in time lifted sanctions is a failure.
\r\nAnything short of peace is a unacceptable. We now move into a dangerous
\r\nphase. When the WAR starts, the lies will reach new highs. We have to be
\r\nprepared for that and we need to keep protesting in every possible way.
\r\nSo what kind of lies should we be prepared for?\r\n

\r\nScourged-earth tactics?<\/b>
\r\nOne doesn't have search very long to find articles focusing on war tactics.
\r\nMany of them neatly presents the modern, state of the art planning coming
\r\nout of Pentagon, basically laying out the beauty of the new \"clean\" WAR.
\r\nBut then there's crazies like Saddam that screw up the neatly laid plans.
\r\nSaddam will blow up dams. Saddam will blow up bridges. And most
\r\nimportantly, he will set fire to the oil wells! The logic is so simple and easy
\r\nto swallow. But things aren't always as simple as they are made out to be.
\r\nThere's now reports coming from Gulf WAR veterans (special forces) saying
\r\nthey were ordered to set fire to the oil wells in Kuwait, behind enemy lines,
\r\nto make Saddam and the Iraqis look bad. I'm not trying to defend Saddam,
\r\nhe's capable of all of the above. I'm just saying that if there's a WAR on,
\r\nyou can be sure that there will be lies.

(I'd just like to ad that \"UN\" most likely were \"US\" dressed up to look like \"UN\")\r\n

\r\n \r\nThe E-bomb?<\/b>
\r\nFrom the same articles that speak of US war tactics one finds talk of a \"new\"
\r\nbomb - the E-bomb. The attack on Iraq is supposed to start with a massive
\r\n\"awe and shock\" attack (or is it \"shock and awe\", can't remember). What
\r\nthat means is that cruise missiles and other bombs will come crashing down
\r\non the Iraqis, their buildings and the very few military targets still standing
\r\nafter years of bombing. And in all of this fire and smoke the \"new\" E-bomb
\r\nwill be used to knock out electronic communication systems. The only
\r\nproblem is that according to official sources there is no such weapon! I fear
\r\nthat they will use the old A-bomb, which also knocks out communications,
\r\nand when the questions about the use of nuclear weapons against Iraq
\r\ncomes up, all they have to do is to say that \"...the new e-bomb has proved
\r\nitself useful in the war on Iraq...\". It's up to us to believe the lies when they
\r\nhit us or raise our voices when we're faced with the challenge. Let the
\r\npeople around you know what feel and think. This is not the time to be
\r\nsilenced.

\r\n \r\nWeapons of mass destruction?<\/b>
\r\nMy point should be clear by now. When the news about Saddam using
\r\nchemical\/biological weapons against American\/British\/Australian forces comes
\r\non, think again. It's possible that he would us those weapons (that is if he
\r\nhas them), but that would be pure suicide. Saddam is no fool, he knows that
\r\nif he uses those weapons the US will retaliate with everything they got. The
\r\nsame is true for any chemical\/biological drone attack on Israel. And to use
\r\nchemical\/biological weapons in urban warfare is just plain stupid. I know that,
\r\nSaddam knows that and US knows that.\r\n

\r\n \r\nThe calm before the Storm...<\/b>
\r\nA week has now passed, a tense, but kind of calm week. I will never forget
\r\nthis stormy fall - winter leading up to this insane WAR. But with the passing
\r\nof every stressed out, sad, angry, desperate and hopeful day I feel more
\r\nalive and worried. The times are in so many ways a-changin. How much more
\r\nbeating can the world economy take before it breaks and crashes head first?
\r\nWhat will the reactions be among the regular, middle class people that make
\r\nup the majority of the industrial world? Should they trade their cars for a
\r\nhorse and a bag of carrots? We're not only standing at the brink of WAR,
\r\nwe're also standing at the brink of the unknown. Maybe it will be a fast, low
\r\n\"collateral damage\" WAR, maybe not. Does anyone remember Vietnam? The
\r\nFirst World War? The Second?\r\n

\r\nWe're on our own now. The American government and Bush has abandoned
\r\nthe American people, Blair has done the same. Here in Sweden it's not much
\r\nbetter. When the WAR begins, when storm comes blowing, I'll declare my
\r\nindependence from all this insanity. We're better off on our own anyways.\r\n\r\n
