The Resistance has scored it's first major victory.  Americans\r\nopposed to the US Government's Orwellian spy project, the (TIA) Total\r\nInformation Awareness project, have succeeded in encouraging the US Senate to\r\nshelve John Poindexter's project pending further investigation into its effects\r\non privacy and civil liberties.  The next step is to win the support of the\r\nHouse of Representatives.<\/b><\/p>\r\n

The JPAO demands the complete and total shutdown of the TIA and the\r\nInformation Awareness Office (IAO).  We also demand removal of convicted\r\nfelon John Poindexter from any and all surveillance activities within the US\r\nGovernment.  We urge you to contact\r\nyour representative and demand:<\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n
<\/td>No funding for the TIA, now or ever!<\/b><\/td><\/tr>\r\n
<\/td>No funding for the IAO, now or ever!<\/b><\/td><\/tr>\r\n

<\/td>The projects of the IAO predate the attacks of 9\/11\/2001.  These\r\n terrorist attacks were exploited as a means to forward a totalitarian\r\n monitoring regime which threatens the liberty of all Americans.<\/b><\/td><\/tr>\r\n
<\/td>The TIA and the IAO will not stop terrorism.  Terrorists will\r\n remain below its radar while ordinary citizens are miscategorized as\r\n potential terrorists and denied their rights.<\/b><\/td><\/tr>\r\n
<\/td>The TIA violates the Fourth Amendment of the US Constitution.<\/b><\/td><\/tr>\r\n
<\/td>The US Military should play no role in civilian law enforcement.<\/b><\/td><\/tr>\r\n
<\/td>Mr. Poindexter, director of the IAO, demonstrated a contempt for the\r\n Constitution during his leadership of the Arms for hostages and illegal\r\n funding of the Contras program under President Reagan.  Mr. Poindexter\r\n lied to Congress about such activities.  An individual with a\r\n demonstrable history of contempt for the Constitution is unfit to lead a\r\n domestic espionage program<\/b><\/td><\/tr>\r\n<\/table>\r\nHow to Contact Your Representative:\r\n
