What\r\nis Peace Sunday?<\/b> \r\n<\/p>\r\n
Peace Sunday\r\nis a single day at the height of the holydays season devoted solely to the\r\ncreation of Peace. The multi-cultural, multi-faith program begins at 8 am, and\r\naccompanied by the 12 hour expo, concludes at 8 pm. It is a call to all\r\npeace-loving people to come forth and uphold together our culture of peace.\r\n<\/p>
Peace Sunday 2002 is an opportunity for all participants to personally\r\ndetermine that peace on Earth will prevail despite the current global political\r\ntensions. It draws on a kaleidoscope of multi-cultural and\r\nmulti-spiritual traditions, awakening our need to affirm our spiritual heritage,\r\nand addressing concerns of peace and justice in our world.\r\n\r\n<\/span><\/p>\r\n What\r\nis the Purpose of Peace Sunday?<\/b><\/span><\/p>\r\n To\r\nproclaim that we, the people of diverse cultures, faiths and neighborhoods of\r\nGreater Los Angeles, have come together to celebrate our interdependence in\r\npeaceful unity; <\/span><\/p>\r\n To\r\ncreate peace locally and globally, through international observances of Peace\r\nSunday, recognizing that each life is a reflecting facet of the light that is\r\nwithin everything;<\/span><\/p>\r\n To\r\ngive thanks for interconnectedness with all life.<\/span><\/p>\r\n When\r\nand Where Will Peace Sunday Take Place?<\/b>\r\n\r\n<\/span><\/p>\r\n The\r\nPeace Sunday experience begins at 8 am at the LA Convention Center, December\r\n15th 2002, and remains open through-out the day until 8 pm. During the day\r\nthere will be booths and tables where people can shop for meaningful gifts and\r\nlearn more about peace. There will be an on-going program of workshops,\r\nand ceremony with music, dancing, poetry, spoken word, theatre, and ritual. The\r\nmain show will begin at 3pm and will feature congressman Dennis Kucinich (D.Ohio),\r\nRev. Dr. Michael Beckwith of the Agape Church; Irving Sarnoff, co-founder, \r\nFriends of the United Nations; The Agape International Choir, Dr. Rickie\r\nByars-Beckwith, choir director; David Pomeranz, platinum recording artist;\r\nsinger, songwriter, and \"Art of Peace\" author Stephen Longfellow Fiske;\r\nDr. Maher Hathout, Muslim Public Affairs Council, and others to be announced...<\/span><\/p>\r\n Suggested\r\nDonation:<\/b> Tickets\r\npurchased in advance are for reserved seating.
