Yet FOX chose to essentially endorse his views by inviting him as a guest over many other former, and currently serving, detectives who could have easily taken his place.

However, the fact that the sniper shootings are occurring so geographically far away from Furhman's city of employment as a cop, makes the choice of him as an 'expert' commentator hint at worse motives on Fox's part.

In the same way as Oliver North was 'rehabilitated' by conservative forces after the Iran Contra scandal, and now has a regular feature on FOX NEWS entitled 'War Stories', Furhman's appearance on Fox is an attempt to regain credibility for a man who should never be heard from again.

Fox's decision is a clear example of its moral bankruptcy and of the spinelessness of conservatives in this country in general, when a racist of the worst kind can be calmly interviewed as if he were a respected member of society.<\/p>\n","contact":"","link":"","address":"","phone":"","parent_id":0,"mime_type":"text\/plain","summary":"Mark Fuhrman, the corrupt, racist LAPD cop who testified in the OJ Simpson trial, and was famously revealed to have made repeated statements using the 'n' word, including that he believed all n*****s should be burned , was featured on FOX NEWS today as an expert commentator on the Sniper shootings.","numcomment":6,"fileurl":"\/uploads\/","filesize":null,"article_url":"\/news\/2002\/10\/20482.php"},"attachments":[],"comments":[{"id":20487,"heading":"FOX is racist, duh.","article":"You are surprised when racist hateful networks use racist hateful commentators?\r\n\r\nFuhrman's racism validates FOX's world view. Why shouldn't they use him? It's no more surprising than if he were on the Washington Times or the Resistance Records website.\r\n\r\nThe question is what we can do to counter such outlets of right wing propaganda. The fact is that Fuhrman WAS exposed as a virulent racist, and subsequently exposed as a bad cop who framed suspects by planting guns, knives, or whatever it took. Seen through his own xenophobic eyes, this might have seemed to him (and possibly to you as well?) to be fighting for law and order; in fact it is the antithesis of law and order. There's a joke in the legal community that Fuhrman's big mistake was in framing a guilty man, but assuming that's true, then Fuhrman and those like him bear the responsibility for OJ's acquittal.\r\n\r\nThe fact is that most far righters in this country have NO real respect for law, order or the judicial system - they are for "justice" only when it serves their narrow interests, and see virtue in the sort of rough "frontier justice" and lawless mob action that imposed punishment on little more than allegation. That Fox would seek out and advance the sleaziest or most notorious of these reactionaries comes as no surprise - it's what Fox is all about.","author":"...","parent_id":20482,"mime_type":"text\/plain","created":"2002-10-24 02:15:02","modified":"2002-10-24 02:15:02","fileurl":""},{"id":20632,"heading":"OneEyedMan","article":"Rank the Bad Guys????
