I, along with two other ISM'ers were arrested today for bloackading the destruction of a road block.

BackTrack.

15 ISM volunteers dismantled three roadblocks cutting off Palestinian roads. ISreali tanks and bulldozers were heard coming up the road and we ran along side it holding our bags. THe bulldozer was successful in remaking one of the road blocks. As it left the three ISM'ers stalled the bulldozer on the street until five ISM volunteers reached the cleared road and linked arms sitting down. We remained sitting in locked arms in front of the road until the Isreali soldiers cuffed, blindfolded and dragged us into a miliary tank.

As we made our way down the road we heard rocks clanking against the tank's roof from the Palestinian children above on the hillside. The tank was extremely hot and would be the only time I would have not supported Palestinians blowing up Isreali tanks. We arrived at what looked like a militaty base outside of Nablus.

After an hour, around three o clock I began to realize bizzare the situation really was. At this moment many of my friends and comrades were just waking up, while I was kneeling on a military mattress, cuffed, blindfolded with flies batting agaisnt my face as soldiers rested gun nozzles on my kneck speaking Hebrew.

After about three hours of detention an Isreali soldier who was about 19 and looked to be 9 aplogized for the entire incident and booted our asses out of the front military gate. We walked for a few miles until we were greeted by children with candy wafers on the outskirts of Nablus. The Palestinian highways are scattered with rusted car frames and burning garbage. It is getting dark and the youth fly kites as sign of defiance to the imposed curfew. Entering the city flying kites of resistance are launched all over the hillside city.

More soon on an interview with a Palestinian Resistance fighter who survived the April Invaison.<\/p>\n","contact":"\/","link":"\/","address":"\/","phone":"\/","parent_id":0,"mime_type":"text\/plain","summary":"\/","numcomment":0,"fileurl":"\/uploads\/","filesize":null,"article_url":"\/news\/2002\/08\/18093.php"},"attachments":[],"comments":[]}
