Hahn said early indications pointed to a gas leak, not a deliberate criminal act...\r\n\r\nMany residents said Friday they had been smelling gas.\r\n\r\n\"I heard at least a dozen people complain on Monday and now it's Friday and this happened,\" said Adam Frankel, a resident on the first floor.\"\r\n\r\nSo, the authorities don't seem to be trying to attribute the explosion to terrorism.\r\n\r\nOne would think that if they went to the trouble to stage a phony attack, they would want to play it as a real one and fix blame on some convenient suspect.\r\n\r\nIt's hard to see what purpose would be served by staging a bombing for P.R. purposes and then calling it an accident. When the Nazis burned the Reichstag, they blamed it on the Communists, not something like faulty gas piping or electrical wiring.\r\n","author":"El Kabong","parent_id":16822,"mime_type":"text\/plain","created":"2002-05-26 23:22:21","modified":"2002-05-27 00:00:03","fileurl":""}]}
