In fact this is done quite often, so often that employers sometimes hire firms to 'research' prospective employes to weed out the agitators. Typically it is labor organizers who do this and once they become know you can bet their name ends up on a list somewhere. As for myself, such a task really tests the limits of my commitment. I mean, i'm all for social justice and everthing but don't ask me to suffer through a day behind the counter at McD's!
