| \r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n\r\n<\/b>FORMER SPOKESPERSON FOR THE EARTH LIBERATION FRONT (ELF) \r\nSUBPOENAED TO APPEAR BEFORE A U.S. CONGRESSIONAL SUBCOMMITTEE ON \r\nECO-TERRORISM<\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Take part in the NATIONAL DAY OF ACTION AGAINST STATE \r\nREPRESSION<\/b>. A national protest will be held in Washington, D.C. on \r\nFebruary 12, 2002. For those who can't make it, please consider \r\norganizing a local support protest in front of U.S. federal \r\nbuilding in your city! <\/b>\r\n\r\n Craig Rosebraugh was a spokesperson for the North American \r\nEarth Liberation Front (ELF) from 1997-2001. The ELF is comprised \r\nof anonymous, autonomous cells committed to causing economic \r\ndamage to those systematically destroying the earth in pursuit of \r\nprofits. After years of watching the government become more and \r\nmore an instrument of big money, the observation was made that, \r\nsince money is the only thing those in power value, their pocket \r\nis where they must be hit. Since 1997 ELF has inflicted more \r\nthat $40 million in damages to entities profiting from the \r\ndestruction of the environment. The ELF has never inflicted loss of \r\nlife, but its actions have persuaded some companies to cease doing \r\nbusiness with destroyers of the environment.<\/p>\r\n On October 31st Craig received a subpoena to testify at a \r\nCongressional Subcommittee meeting on \"eco-terrorism.\" Craig is \r\ncommanded to appear before the Congressional Subcommittee on \r\nForests and Forest Health at 3:00 p.m. on February 12, 2002 in \r\nWashington D.C.<\/p>\r\n The latest subpoena is part of a long history of harassment \r\nwaged in retaliation against Rosebraugh for passing on anonymous \r\ninformation and expressing support for a cause unpopular with the \r\nmonied factions that own the government. Craig has already faced \r\nseven grand jury subpoenas and has had his home and businesses \r\nraided twice. Hundreds of items of property valued at thousands of \r\ndollars were stolen by federal agents during these raids. Federal \r\nagents have followed Rosebraugh and monitored his communications \r\nfor years. And have never come up with an indictment.<\/p>\r\n <\/p><\/td><\/tr> | |
