If one thinks about the heightened awareness of third world suffering he instigated by his political work for the Concert for Bangladesh, (dragging Dylan out of exile for his first public performance in 3 years) this simple man is, arguably, as influential a force on the raising of intercultural tolerance and consciousness-raising as any other artist of the 20th century. \r\n\r\nThink about it, by interesting his fellow bandmates in india, and by the Beatles then seeding the world with the notion of the journey inside, by nurturing the proliferation of yoga and meditation, he leaves us all far better off for his humanity, and far more conscious of each other.
