It was not in their convinence and if they did have any reason they would not have missed the chance to use it.  There was negociations with the police before hand and they agreed on what charges would be used.  The police lied and raised bail by changing charges.  I have not sympathy for the police, especially the SDPD. San Diego is the #2 safest city and the #4 top police brutality.  Sound ironic?
