Every media source has its bias. Most of the stuff you read in newspapers comes from press releases anyway.  <br><br> Are activists being deceptive about folks being arrested for walking down the street? No, they aren't. This really did happen on numerous occasions in Philadelphia. It's one thing to block the street and expect to be arrested. Quite another to be targeted as you walk down the street because you just happened to facilitate a few activists meetings that a police spy attended. This is probably what happened. A police agent attended several of the activist meetings and saw that Kate did alot of talking (I'm assuming this) and wrote down on their report: \"Kate Sorensen - ringleader.\" <br><br> It's pretty amusing to see the cops talking about making examples of a \"few ringleaders.\" Our movement doesn't have leaders, which I guess the cops can't understand. If you throw Kate and John Sellers into the Philly dungeons, it ain't going to have much effect on this movement, because we have thousands of trained, competent, confident activists. Somebody else will take their place. All the cops end up doing is pissing us off, make us more determined, and set the stage to make themselves look bad in the courts.<\/p>\n","contact":"chuck@tao.ca","link":"http:\/\/www.infoshop.org\/","address":"","phone":"","parent_id":0,"mime_type":"text\/plain","summary":"","numcomment":0,"fileurl":"\/uploads\/","filesize":null,"article_url":"\/news\/2000\/08\/582.php"},"attachments":[],"comments":[]}
