I was at the Seattle protest and followed events through the web site when not on the streets.  Throughout the approximately 3 weeks that I was keyed upon the event I lodged repeated complaints about both lack of coverage and distorted coverage.  I am concerned that the same pattern appears to be occurring again.\r\n\r\nDuring WTO we had to endure the repeated prominent postings by the \"unorganized militia\" advocating property damage.  Now we have weird postings about the American people wanting to kill off the disfigured.\r\n\r\nIn WTO there was no way to post anything to the indymedia site that I could discover.  I don't know how the content was selected, but - very clearly - there is a problem here.  We want and need better coverage both of the events on the street and in the courts, etc., and the specific issues which is bringing us together in this growing movement.\r\n\r\nThe root of la.indymedia.org (indymedia.org) indicates that the site is controlled by the same people as during the WTO.  Is this control a mystery?  Is there any accountability here?\r\n","author":"Bob","parent_id":440,"mime_type":"text\/plain","created":"2000-05-10 19:06:39","modified":"2019-10-28 23:12:27","fileurl":""},{"id":460,"heading":"This Guy","article":"\r\n       Notice that this candidate says he is pro-life, and does not specify. Also, his website immediately plays \"God Save the Queen,\" or \"God Bless America,\" whatever you want to call it. The fact that it is the same song with different words indicates that it may have grown in popularity amongst those who hung more toward the right wing over time, hence it's continued existance. The fact that this old white man, like we have'nt had enough of those already in office; is playing that song on his website, uses only basic terms of the issues that appeal to the left wing, which are usually held in common with many elements of the right wing, offers allot but automatically seems to expect something in return, ahead of time; and claims to be against racism and sexism while not explaining his support for \"pro-life,\" is that in reference to the death penalty or abortion, or both? What about a womans right to choose? Or how about a prisoner's right to choose, or maybe even someone who is terminally ill? Compare this guy to Ralph Nader and Winona LaDuke, see what you come up with. Take a look at Harry Browne as well, for those of you who don't know Harry Browne he is a Libertarian.\r\n       After reading this guy's site, my suggestion would be to go for Nader and LaDuke. But if you are stupid enough to take the word of someone you don't know to be the reasoning for your choice, you may as well vote for Bush. Research, it's the only way.\r\n\r\nPeace","author":"Winston Smith","parent_id":440,"mime_type":"text\/plain","created":"2000-08-10 00:59:04","modified":"2000-08-10 01:01:00","fileurl":""}]}
