Praying To God for Help with Satan's Work (tags)

There are all kinds of reasons that people call upon their God for help. Often the best are for those inner reasons that are needed to help us with personal matters like work, our children, our loved ones, our health and the many basic decent things in life that from time to time can benefit from a little blind faith. We don't all believe in a God or a higher power and more and more of us believe this is about it, feeling you're born, you die - that's a that. Though many believe it's just an “opiate for the masses,” I feel that just because I don't believe in another's view, there is no harm, and in fact I've personally seen how it can be very helpful to people struggling with things like addictions, etc, though I never had that issue myself.

Venice Boardwalk ordinance draft looks like it's going to fail it's duties (tags)

Venice Boardwalk has been a big loss to the City- how it is seen by Los Angeles' tourist crowds, and to LA's own image as an artistic or art-supportive environment. Commercial vending of cheap re-sale-mdse. bought at any local wholesaler while using City sidewalk free spaces ruins any art scene. City Council doing a draft that looks bad so far.

Ten Days Left to Apply to the 2010 School of Authentic Journalism (tags)

It is a herald of the hour we live in that the New York Times has to lay off eight percent of its news reporters but the Narco News School of Authentic Journalism is out scouting and recruiting for a different kind of journalism that is growing and on the ascent.

Twitter Times ...a'changin'... (tags)

Minneapolis with a reduced RNC is the latest hub for exposing [only some] of our moldy political processes. Conventions of old are no longer fun clean sports games. Outside on the streets of their fake-stage- halls "the people" are survellianced, infiltrated, pre-emptively raided and policed with a zeal revealing the corroding fear of authorities -- who want to make dissenters be the 'terrorists' and 'the enemy' . No way !

No Borders Camp: A Call to Resistance Against the Border Regime (tags)

This is an invitation to all people of goodwill, to all who are fighting for dignity, freedom, human rights and autonomy. The regime of terror and the homeland security apparatus will not collapse on its own – it must be challenged. We call on you to join us in opposition to the border regime. Between November 7th and 11th, 2007, thousands of people will gather at the line between Calexico, California and Mexicali, Baja California. Throughout this week of action we will engage in opposition to the infrastructure of repression and that of neo-liberal globalization. Together we will create an autonomous zone free of borders and the lies they perpetuate.

The Coming Civil War and Repolarization for Revolution in the Present Era (tags)

Just to be clear, I didn't choose this title lightly or facetiously, but in all seriousness. In speaking to "a coming civil war" I am "drawing inspiration" from Newt Gingrich (the prominent Republican politician who was formerly the Speaker of the House of Representatives), who has made the observation that what's happening now in the electoral arena and the broader things that it reflects in U.S. society is analogous to what was going on in the U.S. in the 1840s and the 1850s, and that this isn't something that will—I'm paraphrasing, but this is the essence—this isn't something that will go away. It will only be decided when one side or the other wins out.
