In Trumponomics, falling tax rates for businesses should increase tax revenues. When businesses do not invest in an under-financed infrastructure, the tax gifts lead to lower stater spending and higher stater debts at the end.

The Crises of Today's Economy (tags)

The market is not a subject but an instrument. Nevertheless "the primacy of the market" replaced "the primacy of politics." Neoliberalism actually serves the interests of finance capital. A doctor whose therapy causes sicknesses cannot understand this. Our elites are in great distress.

The "Plural Economics Network" challenges breaking through the monoculture and intellectual one-sidedness in economics...Instead of viewing our varied social problems from different perspectives, all the answers are derived from very similar models.

Plural Economics (tags)

Vancouver Canada has 23 community centers, some with swimming pools that can take your breath away. Learning from other cultures and countries is a sign of strength, not of weakness. Without a social contract we become wolves. Without public goods, the market economy fails.

The Keynesian past is past: Nostalgia is not the future (tags)

Keynesianism would be much better than austerity, but would do nothing to solve the underlying structural crisis of capitalism.

The Economy Sinks in a Deep Crisis of Meaning (tags)

Economists are compared with astrologers and mocked as crystal-ball readers because they are frequently way off the mark with their growth forecasts. Economists have not learned the great lessons. Mainstream economy entrenched itself behind a model world and often faded out reality.

It is one thing to believe strange conspiracy theories about the September 11th attacks on America, and quite a another to leverage that belief as an excuse to harass anyone who dares to question his personality cult.

America has been subjected to the some severe shock therapy over the years. JFK, MLK, Jr. and Bobby Kennedy were all murdered! Then, there was the Vietnam War (1963-75); the “Watergate” scandal; and the horrors of the 9/11 tragedy; followed by the invasion and occupation of Iraq. The latest hit is the Wall Street bailout, to wit: the economic and fiscal meltdowns. They all spell out the sharp decline of America. Is it by accident or by plan?

Arm Wrestling with Darwin (tags)

I am convinced by the evidence of natural selection and treasure Darwin’s theory because it promotes an interconnectedness of all living things, but I hold that the intense battle to keep ID out of the classroom is misguided.

When 9-11 theories go bad (tags)

I won't argue that the U.S. government does not engage in brutal, murderous skulduggery from time to time. But the notion that the U.S. government either detected the attacks but allowed them to occur, or, worse, conspired to kill thousands of Americans to launch a war-for-oil in Afghanistan is absurd.

Government Promulgates the Wackiest Conspiracy Theories (tags)

I've heard some conspiracy theories in my days, some are quite valid and some are too far fetched and error laden to be credible. Since conspiracy theories abound, I have developed a methodology for investigating conspiracy theories. First and foremost I ask, what is the motive for advancing the theory.  Elitist naysayers and generally ignorant "sheeple" of course dismiss any conspiracy theory out of hand. For those incapable of seeing beyond the sand their head is buried in, anything unusual is just a coincidence. Anything which might require them to actually think critically is of course out of the question.
