“ TO REBEL IS JUSTIFIED” The Alliance-Philippines or AJLPP based in the United States militantly condemns the unwanted police violence against UC students in different UC campuses. We –in the AJLPP ,again reiterate wholeheartedly supports the California-wide walk-out of students and is militantly in solidarity with the stud entry and campus academic and working people in rising up against unjust budget-cuts and tuition fee hikes recently imposed by the UC Board of regents. The Alliance also congratulates the militant action of the UCLA students who defied police brutality and violence. They acted and occupied the Chancellors Office after they decided to increase the student’s fees by 32% or more than $ 2,000 next fall.
Violence is the problem that pretends to be its solution. Violence is infectitious like cholera. Violence feels justified as counter-force. Violence prohibited as an offense is justified as a sanction.

Today I am writing about a very sensitive subject. Indeed, at this point in time it is a very dangerous subject to write about. The subject is political violence: when is it justified and when is it not justified. There are many positions on this topic and like most topics there are extreme positions. One extreme position is that political violence is never justified. This is the belief held by pacifists and followers of Gandhi. At the other extreme we find believers in political violence ranging from Stalinists, some Anarchists, Fascists, to Imperialists, among others. These political ideologies generally support the use of violence to achieve their ends.
