Why Do They Like Children?
Sudhama Ranganathan
2013-01-22 7:10 AM Whenever we hear about sexual predators in our society we, desire to take action and hunt them, bring them to justice and get them off the streets. On the news often we hear of rings of such people getting busted. Sometimes it's the internet and child pornographers, etc. Sometimes it's closer to home. Either way, we're glad they're busted, exposed and off the streets. We consider that a high priority for law enforcement, wouldn't you agree? The safety, welfare and protection of our kids comes first and foremost, prior to anything else. We feel it in the pit of our stomachs, instinctively, whether we have kids or we don't, we must make them safe. (text/html)

It's a Business (pt 2)
Sudhama Ranganathan
2012-12-08 9:21 AM Money can so easily change circumstances. Just a little bit can help ease the stress of worrying about how the rent or mortgage will be paid on any given month. A small amount extra can make the difference between getting your kid what they need for school or not, like a new or even used computer or some school clothes. With just a few extra in the way of cash, there may not have to be the monthly juggling act of figuring which bills to pay and which to put off. And making up such seemingly miniscule increments of ground regarding getting current on bills and/or debt can really help take a load off a person's mind, if only until the next paycheck. Most of us have been there, and if not probably will at some point or another in life. (text/html)

A Pretty Good Election, but the Right Still Rules
Mark Gabrish Conlan/Zenger's Newsmagazine
2012-11-20 5:34 PM The November 6, 2012 election turned out fairly well for progressives — from Barack Obama retaining the presidency to a true Left-wing Democrat like Bob Filner winning for Mayor of San Diego — but the Right is still strong. The issue agendas and terms of discussion continue to be dictated by an increasingly militant Right wing and America's pathetic, ill-organized remnant of a Left no longer has the power to put pressure on the political system for progressive reforms the way it did in the 1890's, 1930's and 1960's. Deconstructing the reality behind The Reality of the "Lesser Evil"
Zahir Ebrahim | Project Humanbeingsfirst.org
2012-11-17 9:09 PM Which is why core policies of the state do not change by changing the front faces in the White House. Often minor domestic policy changes are put on the table and “then, vigorous debate is encouraged within the limits imposed by unstated doctrinal orthodoxy” just to maintain the facade of democracy and elections being the harbingers of the much needed change.

A tale of two elections: Venezuelan accountability and U.S. irregularities
Systemic Disorder
2012-11-14 10:54 AM Venezuelan voting machines have verifiable printouts, all parties participate in vote-security preparations and results are available minutes after the polls close. Compare that with U.S. elections that feature voter suppression and unaccountable voting machines.
