text "Believing without Seeing" Margot Kassmann 2014-04-20 4:13 PM
“Faith is a gift. But faith is also sought and gained by struggling with doubt. For the disciples or the people who want to follow Jesus today, faith is based on the venture of entrusting oneself.” Margot Kassmann was a national Lutheran bishop in Germany. (text/plain + 1 comment)

text 'Profound' Arrogance at UN creates elitist human rights Anthony Ravlich 2014-03-28 10:04 AM
Describes the 'Profound' Arrogance of bureaucratic elites at the UN in disregarding history, as it they 'know', to reinvent human rights to emphasize elites rather than individuals. Discussion with Islamic Assist Professor of Law on global ethical human rights. (text/plain)

text Structural Weaknesses of Capitalism Thomas Gehrig 2014-03-03 3:36 AM
Ignorance and ideology replaced facts and economic fairness under Reagan. Reagan appealed to the Laffer curve and argued tax cuts bring higher revenues, He confused investment and speculation, SROs and SUVs, militarism and security and decried government as the problem. (text/plain)

text Can Pope Francis End Forced Celibacy for Preists? Prevent Molestation 2014-02-22 7:48 AM
The recent report from the U.N. implicates the Catholic Church in enabling priests who abuse and sexually molest children to evade the law and consequences. Maybe Pope Francis can help repeal the dictate of forced celibacy in priests by recgnizing their natural human need for sexual relations with another adult human being. It is unnatural and a form of psychological torture to expect a human male to be celibate for their entire practiced profession. The need for sex that is suppressed can emerge in abberant forms like pedophilia. (text/plain)

text Billy Graham: Pro Christ or Anti Christ www.theologe.de 2014-01-14 4:51 AM
Billy Graham was more a representative of the imperial American elite than a follower of the meek and humble Jesus. He comforted every president for 70 years in their shameful Korean War, Vietnam War and Iraq War. Fast cleaning and Graham soap marked "God's machine gun." (text/plain)

text This economy kills!: Pope Francis Fred Schmid and Otto Kallascheuer 2013-12-24 5:48 AM
The Cold War in internal church policy may be coming to an end. A religion without mysticism is merely a philosophy. Mysticism is a specifically modern form of faith. God's presence is no longer self-evident or plausible to the entire world. Francis' church is a hospital under the open air. (text/plain + 1 comment)

text The unconditional basic income as a postpatriarchal project Ina Praetorius 2013-12-22 4:47 AM
"The unconditional basic income does not provide a readymade solution to the imbalance of genders that has grown over the centuries. Rather it is a postpatriarchal project in a strict sense as it does not present a magic bullet but counts on the freedom and ability of women and men..." (text/plain)

text Dorothee Soelle: Teacher of God and Prophetess Willy Spieler 2013-12-19 5:23 AM
Twenty years ago Dorothee Soelle warned of that totalitarian religion in North America that is in power today. She spoke of “Christo-fascism” and meant the “Christian” glossing over a capitalist system that goes along with murder, exploitation and destruction. (text/plain)

text Praying To God for Help with Satan's Work Sudhama Ranganathan 2013-01-17 7:17 AM
There are all kinds of reasons that people call upon their God for help. Often the best are for those inner reasons that are needed to help us with personal matters like work, our children, our loved ones, our health and the many basic decent things in life that from time to time can benefit from a little blind faith. We don't all believe in a God or a higher power and more and more of us believe this is about it, feeling you're born, you die - that's a that. Though many believe it's just an “opiate for the masses,” I feel that just because I don't believe in another's view, there is no harm, and in fact I've personally seen how it can be very helpful to people struggling with things like addictions, etc, though I never had that issue myself. (text/plain)

text Atheist Census is back online! Paul King 2012-12-17 7:17 PM

text The Demonization of Dissent in the United States William Wraithwrite 2012-10-26 12:32 PM
On Oct. 3rd, 2012 Wired.Com’s (or Wired Magazine’s) Danger Room came out with Spencer Ackerman’s story of a leaked although unclassified U.S. Army “chart” that lists indicators and behaviors for identifying people who are supposedly becoming radicalized to terrorist potential. But what is so startling about this Army’s presumptively rational analysis (more like propagandic analysis) is its broad categorization of symptoms for identifying those thought alienated enough to become potential terrorist material. text Director of Public Relations Jeanette Belle 2012-08-04 8:39 AM
Let your spirits soar with Loving the Silent Tears, a brilliant new musical coming to the prestigious Shrine Auditorium on Oct. 27. The star-studded company of Oscar/Grammy/Tony and Emmy winners take the audience on a spiritual journey in a quest for inner peace, travelling through the song and dance of 16 different countries. The lyrics for Loving the Silent Tears are based on the poetic works of Supreme Master Ching Hai, world renowned humanitarian, artist, and spiritual teacher. For a preview, please visit: http://youtu.be/hTCzfL6gUYQ (1.47 min) (text/plain)

text Climate Change and the Next U.S. Revolution Kyle 2012-08-02 1:49 PM
The U.S. heat wave is slowly shaking the foundations of American politics. It may take years for the deep rumble to evolve into an above ground, institution-shattering earthquake, but U.S. society has changed for good. (text/html + 1 comment)

text Where's OUR Religious Liberty? Mark Gabrish Conlan/Zenger's Newsmagazine 2012-03-02 4:47 PM
The recent controversy over whether institutions owned by the Roman Catholic Church should be required to include birth control coverage in the health insurance they offer employees, the attempt in Virginia to require women seeking abortions to submit to medical rape, and the radical Right's reaction to the 9th Circuit appeals court ruling that Proposition 8 is unconstitutional raises the question: why does it seem as if only bigoted Right-wing churches have "religious liberty" in this country? Why are America's officially tolerated spiritual belief systems seemingly limited to those of the Roman Catholics, Mormons and Southern Baptist Convention? (text/plain)

text Mary's Revolt for Life Peter Buerger 2011-12-26 7:02 AM
The civilization made and guided by men seriously threatens survival on the earth. The song of Christmas is not a sweet lullaby but a feminine rebellion against the world of death worshipers. The gifts of this earth do not belong to us. (text/plain)

text Faith Heals Reason Dorothee Soelle 2011-12-25 8:51 AM
"There is a beautiful fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen where the devil builds a mirror that distorts everything beautiful and good into nothing. The most glorious countrysides appear like boiled spinach, the best persons are repulsive or without torsos.." (text/plain)

text Epilogue to a Life: Dorothee Soelle Fulbert Steffensky 2011-12-23 6:44 AM
Dorothee Soelle combined political activism and mysticism, unconventional thinking and passion for life. This epilogue written by her partner, the theologian and former Benedictine monk Fulbert Steffensky, reveals the feistyness and childlikeness of the liberation theologian. (text/plain)

text Occupy the Library Red Raven 2011-12-12 3:47 PM
America’s majority who supported the Occupy Wall Street movement (OWS), within the 99% of all Americans, are being smeared by agent propagandists within the punditry of mainstream media (MSM). For example, Michael Gerson’s black demagoguery, of the closet-right-wing Washington Post, is a good example. In one of his recent columns he declared the OWS movement seems little more than a “…confused set of grievances…” and paints the movement to have little ideological coherence save Marxist socialism and anarchy. Equally he attempts to blame the Democratic Party (that he claims is their “desperate” political calculation) for this phenomenon of the Occupy Wall Street (OWS) movement. (text/plain)

text Christianty vs. Science Fred Snider 2011-09-15 3:39 PM
I found the top quote on Christianity, & decided to post my comments on it here. (text/plain + 1 comment)

text The Social Contract and the Kingdom of God Urs Eigenmann 2011-07-24 10:34 AM
When the social contract disappears, we become wolves to each other. The tradition of prophetic socialism emphasizes the reign of God as the imperative for peace, justice and preservation of nature. Utopia is not a different world but a better world (Christoph Blumhardt). (text/plain)

text July 4th, 1776 Was Deeply Symbolic Choice to USA's Masonic Founders Seven Star Hand 2011-06-30 6:40 PM
Key founders of the USA expertly and redundantly encoded hidden symbolic messages throughout our national symbols, including the purposeful choice of July 4th, 1776 for the absolutely stunning details this very unique date encapsulates. (text/html)

text New Zealanders must ?speak out? about omitted human rights or be reduced to mere ?numbers? Anthony Ravlich 2011-05-19 7:59 PM
NZ has been taken over by an anti-human rights philosophy, 'discriminatory collectivism, which aims to destroy individual and collective potential yet human rights regards the individual as a person (and spiritually has a 'name'). (text/plain)

text Money and Justice Markus Vogt 2011-04-27 4:14 AM
We live on credit, shift costs and risks into the future and make possible a prosperity with the help of a policy of cheap money that is paid for by others. An interest-free money system would be a counter model to the growth pressure inherent in the present system. (text/plain)

text Jesus' Nonviolence Fernando Enns 2011-04-25 2:06 AM
Jesus' way is a third way, not the warrior cult or indifference but nonviolent resistance. Jesus himself is the auto-basileia and auto-aletheia of God, the fulfillment of the land promise to Israel. Jesus did not stop at words but drove out the moneychangers and traders. (text/plain)

text "Jewish" Sam Miller lie exposed Paul King 2011-04-18 9:45 PM
Almost every Catholic publication, blog and comment board has carried a story about a "Jewish" businessman defending the Catholic Church. The whole story is based on total lies and deceptions but still is circulated by the faithful. (text/plain + 8 comments)

text "Only the one who cries for the Jews may sing Gregorian" Franz Segbers 2011-04-04 4:39 AM
Crying and singing, ethical engagement and praising God belong together. The great events of world history should be seen from below, from the perspective of the dismissed, suspicious, mistreated, powerless, oppressed and mocked. God's honor is the person who lives. (text/plain)

text The Prophet and the Professor Leonardo Boff 2011-03-17 6:11 AM
Liberation theology insists the poor are our teachers and the church is not an end-in-itself. The church that serves itself is different than the church that serves the world. The church that wants to return to the 19th century with little interest in social issues is a caricature. (text/plain)

text POPE BENTO XVI AND HIS CONSERVATIVE CHRIST Fábio de IOliveira Ribeiro 2011-03-13 6:47 AM
Theological conservatism of Bento XVI is almost heretical. (text/plain)

text USA Founding Fathers Encrypted Time-Capsule Decoded Seven Star Hand 2011-03-04 4:04 AM
The founders of the USA left deeply encrypted and time-encoded messages for future citizens and lawmakers. More astounding is where and how they were hidden, what they were designed to prove, and why they are being revealed now. (text/html)

text Elijah, Amos and Jeremiah: Prophets as Uncomfortable Critics Dieter Potzel 2011-02-21 7:14 AM
The Old Testament prophets condemned war and accumulating riches as attacks on society and the poor, as forms of idolatry and blindness where fellow persons are degraded into non-persons. False prophets are described as broken cisterns that can hold no water. (text/plain)
