Praying To God for Help with Satan's Work
Sudhama Ranganathan
2013-01-16 7:17 AM There are all kinds of reasons that people call upon their God for help. Often the best are for those inner reasons that are needed to help us with personal matters like work, our children, our loved ones, our health and the many basic decent things in life that from time to time can benefit from a little blind faith. We don't all believe in a God or a higher power and more and more of us believe this is about it, feeling you're born, you die - that's a that. Though many believe it's just an “opiate for the masses,” I feel that just because I don't believe in another's view, there is no harm, and in fact I've personally seen how it can be very helpful to people struggling with things like addictions, etc, though I never had that issue myself. The Demonization of Dissent in the United States
William Wraithwrite
2012-10-25 3:32 PM On Oct. 3rd, 2012 Wired.Com’s (or Wired Magazine’s) Danger Room came out with Spencer Ackerman’s story of a leaked although unclassified U.S. Army “chart” that lists indicators and behaviors for identifying people who are supposedly becoming radicalized to terrorist potential. But what is so startling about this Army’s presumptively rational analysis (more like propagandic analysis) is its broad categorization of symptoms for identifying those thought alienated enough to become potential terrorist material.

Climate Change and the Next U.S. Revolution
Kyle
2012-08-01 4:49 PM The U.S. heat wave is slowly shaking the foundations of American politics. It may take years for the deep rumble to evolve into an above ground, institution-shattering earthquake, but U.S. society has changed for good. (text/html + 1 comment)
Where's OUR Religious Liberty?
Mark Gabrish Conlan/Zenger's Newsmagazine
2012-03-01 4:47 PM The recent controversy over whether institutions owned by the Roman Catholic Church should be required to include birth control coverage in the health insurance they offer employees, the attempt in Virginia to require women seeking abortions to submit to medical rape, and the radical Right's reaction to the 9th Circuit appeals court ruling that Proposition 8 is unconstitutional raises the question: why does it seem as if only bigoted Right-wing churches have "religious liberty" in this country? Why are America's officially tolerated spiritual belief systems seemingly limited to those of the Roman Catholics, Mormons and Southern Baptist Convention? (text/plain)
Mary's Revolt for Life
Peter Buerger
2011-12-25 7:02 AM The civilization made and guided by men seriously threatens survival on the earth. The song of Christmas is not a sweet lullaby but a feminine rebellion against the world of death worshipers. The gifts of this earth do not belong to us. (text/plain)
Faith Heals Reason
Dorothee Soelle
2011-12-24 8:51 AM "There is a beautiful fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen where the devil builds a mirror that distorts everything beautiful and good into nothing. The most glorious countrysides appear like boiled spinach, the best persons are repulsive or without torsos.."

Epilogue to a Life: Dorothee Soelle
Fulbert Steffensky
2011-12-22 6:44 AM Dorothee Soelle combined political activism and mysticism, unconventional thinking and passion for life. This epilogue written by her partner, the theologian and former Benedictine monk Fulbert Steffensky, reveals the feistyness and childlikeness of the liberation theologian. (text/plain)
Occupy the Library
Red Raven
2011-12-11 3:47 PM America’s majority who supported the Occupy Wall Street movement (OWS), within the 99% of all Americans, are being smeared by agent propagandists within the punditry of mainstream media (MSM). For example, Michael Gerson’s black demagoguery, of the closet-right-wing Washington Post, is a good example. In one of his recent columns he declared the OWS movement seems little more than a “…confused set of grievances…” and paints the movement to have little ideological coherence save Marxist socialism and anarchy. Equally he attempts to blame the Democratic Party (that he claims is their “desperate” political calculation) for this phenomenon of the Occupy Wall Street (OWS) movement. (text/plain)

The Social Contract and the Kingdom of God
Urs Eigenmann
2011-07-23 1:34 PM When the social contract disappears, we become wolves to each other. The tradition of prophetic socialism emphasizes the reign of God as the imperative for peace, justice and preservation of nature. Utopia is not a different world but a better world (Christoph Blumhardt). (text/plain)
July 4th, 1776 Was Deeply Symbolic Choice to USA's Masonic Founders
Seven Star Hand
2011-06-29 9:40 PM Key founders of the USA expertly and redundantly encoded hidden symbolic messages throughout our national symbols, including the purposeful choice of July 4th, 1776 for the absolutely stunning details this very unique date encapsulates. (text/html)
New Zealanders must ?speak out? about omitted human rights or be reduced to mere ?numbers?
Anthony Ravlich
2011-05-18 10:59 PM NZ has been taken over by an anti-human rights philosophy, 'discriminatory collectivism, which aims to destroy individual and collective potential yet human rights regards the individual as a person (and spiritually has a 'name'). (text/plain)
Money and Justice
Markus Vogt
2011-04-26 7:14 AM We live on credit, shift costs and risks into the future and make possible a prosperity with the help of a policy of cheap money that is paid for by others. An interest-free money system would be a counter model to the growth pressure inherent in the present system. (text/plain)
Jesus' Nonviolence
Fernando Enns
2011-04-24 5:06 AM Jesus' way is a third way, not the warrior cult or indifference but nonviolent resistance. Jesus himself is the auto-basileia and auto-aletheia of God, the fulfillment of the land promise to Israel. Jesus did not stop at words but drove out the moneychangers and traders. (text/plain)
"Jewish" Sam Miller lie exposed
Paul King
2011-04-18 12:45 AM Almost every Catholic publication, blog and comment board has carried a story about a "Jewish" businessman defending the Catholic Church. The whole story is based on total lies and deceptions but still is circulated by the faithful. (text/plain + 8 comments)
"Only the one who cries for the Jews may sing Gregorian"
Franz Segbers
2011-04-03 7:39 AM Crying and singing, ethical engagement and praising God belong together. The great events of world history should be seen from below, from the perspective of the dismissed, suspicious, mistreated, powerless, oppressed and mocked. God's honor is the person who lives. (text/plain)
The Prophet and the Professor
Leonardo Boff
2011-03-16 9:11 AM Liberation theology insists the poor are our teachers and the church is not an end-in-itself. The church that serves itself is different than the church that serves the world. The church that wants to return to the 19th century with little interest in social issues is a caricature. (text/plain)

USA Founding Fathers Encrypted Time-Capsule Decoded
Seven Star Hand
2011-03-03 4:04 AM The founders of the USA left deeply encrypted and time-encoded messages for future citizens and lawmakers. More astounding is where and how they were hidden, what they were designed to prove, and why they are being revealed now. (text/html)
Elijah, Amos and Jeremiah: Prophets as Uncomfortable Critics
Dieter Potzel
2011-02-20 7:14 AM The Old Testament prophets condemned war and accumulating riches as attacks on society and the poor, as forms of idolatry and blindness where fellow persons are degraded into non-persons. False prophets are described as broken cisterns that can hold no water. (text/plain)
Meditations on God, Faith and the Enlightenment
Heinz Zahrnt and Walter Dietz
2010-12-25 6:59 AM Christmas should be a time for the poor, for restructuring the economy so it does not only benefit a few and so public necessities like education, health care and housing are rights and not privileges. We are living in a dark age when financiers deny their responsibility. (text/plain + 1 comment)
The Dangerous Doctrine of Justification
Dieter Potzel
2010-12-23 5:25 AM While religion can make people happier by giving connection to a larger whole, it can also make them blind and neurotic. Self-righteousness is the grand delusion distorting life in the church and outside the church (cf. Eberhard Juengel). (text/plain + 1 comment)
The Changing Spring
Melitta Muller-Hansen
2010-12-04 6:42 AM In the parables, the itinerant preacher Jesus meets us as an ingenious storyteller. He brings God near people. This is an entirely undogmatic way of speaking of God. Where speaking is impossible, one must tell stories. Parables focus on the earthly and point to the divine. (text/plain)

Science Is A Religion
Fred Snider
2010-10-09 6:01 PM This is a very serious challenge to all scientists, atheists, humanists, & skeptics, based on very careful research of the evidence that I offer in support of my contention. If you are going to post a rebuttal, please research the evidence first, & be polite. You can contact all of the people mentioned in this article, & ask them why they behaved so unprofessionally.
