PHOENIX (August 5, 2019) — Tepeyac Leadership, Inc. (TLI) is pleased to announce its inaugural program for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. For its first cohort, TLI is looking for Catholic lay professionals representing a wide range of fields, including corporate, nonprofit, education, health, finance, and legal.

TLI is a five-month program, comprised of 18 weekly sessions that bring together professional development and growth in faith.

“Today, the development of lay Catholic professionals and equipping them to become virtuous leaders to advance the mission of the Church and serve the common good in secular society is vital,” said the Most Rev. Jose Gomez, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. “You have my prayers and support in this important mission.”

“We are already seeing it having a big impact in our own diocese, and now the Archdiocese of Los Angeles has invited us to help them begin the same thing there. That’s really wonderful,” said the Most Rev. Thomas J. Olmsted, Bishop of the Diocese of Phoenix. “It is our prayer that the Holy Spirit will place in the hearts of participants a mission of leadership that they will gladly embrace and fulfill through God’s grace.”

According to Bishop Olmsted, “the true call of the laity, the authentic vocation of lay Catholic men and women, is to be ambassadors of Christ in the world, living among everyone else in secular society while striving for holiness, sanctifying the world.”

In Los Angeles, TLI will open enrollment during the months of October and November. The program will start in the Spring of 2020. There is an open house planned for October 1 at Cathedral High School.

Through its partnership with the Diocese of Phoenix and now the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, TLI is inviting Catholic professionals to prepare for a mission in leadership — through an encounter with goodness, truth, and beauty — in a one-of-a-kind civic leadership development program. TLI is equipping graduates to build a community in which people can flourish and the common good be advanced.
