The United Farmworkers were founded in California in the early 1960's by Mexican American and Filipino Americans.In 1966 there was an impasse with corporate giant Schenley. Cesar and Dolores Huerta deided on a march.

They scouted out a road and towns in the Central Valley. The march began in Delano then the participants went on foot to Porterville, next eo the town of Farmersville to the north, then Fresno, then Madera, to the north they marched to Modesto finammy they went inti Stockton and sacramento with tired bodies.

Senators from some states heard testimony about labor abuses by people employed to pick and pack

The hearings were held in a high school auditorium on march 16 1966l
