Hamas has announced a string of executions that will overtake Saudi Arabia with executions per capita. Thirteen men are fighting to the death penalty for their involvement in murder. If they are sentenced to death, the Gaza strip of 1.8 million will overtake per capita the 153 people killed in Saudi Arabia of 31.5 million. Ismail Jaber, Hamas’ attorney general in Gaza announced that the executions will be pushed for. “Capital punishments will be implemented soon in Gaza,” he said. “I ask that they take place before a large crowd.” Thirteen men, most convicted of murder connected to robberies, are currently awaiting execution, another Hamas official, Khalil al-Haya, said on Friday at the main prayers.
