Pasadena, CA -- The Young Philanthropists' #Adventure2016 is a traveling platform that will offer at least 1,000 hours of community service to charities in the region during June 1-3. Participants are all ages and join for any portion of the route throughout the summer. The platform allows people to engage with communities around America through volunteer service, college classes, and lectures from regional leaders and experts. Our route spans from Los Angeles, CA to Portland, OR to Boston, MA to Savannah, GA during June 1 - August 27, 2016.
WHO: Any local charity is eligible to receive volunteer service hours and should contact The YP at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 203-442-0544. The work is performed by individuals who have received and can provide a national or international background check, and signs up through The YP’s platform. Many participants are from prestigious colleges and universities.
WHAT: Service Projects, Speakers, Fundraiser Parties
WHEN: June 1-3, during normal working hours; Speakers and Parties to be held during evening hours.
WHERE: Participants can travel 25-30 miles from the Pasadena Area to service project sites. Speakers will be hosted at The YP Base Camps in Pasadena, in Angeles National Forest and other service project sites. Fundraiser parties are hosted by organizations or local sponsors. Final location details for parties are posted on the YP's website (www.theyp.org) and social media (twitter.com/@YPThe).
The Young Philanthropists is a not for profit organization working to make traveling the world an accessible way to educate everyone, so that anyone has a shot at solving global problems. They do this by setting up routes around continents that allow participants to have jobs, volunteer, study courses, hear from local leaders and experts and engage their communities, and explore the most beautiful landscapes around a continent - all during a summer.
