College costs are greatly increased by states
relying on federal student loans to be repaid by
students instead of state subsidies even for
in state students.
Abolishing student loans will reduce college costs!!
College including two-year community college has become expensive
because state legislators from the Democratic party believe
that students can borrow an unlimited amount of money from
the federal government to attend college so college enrollment
is no longer subsidized by states.
My opinion is that if the federal government were to suddenly abolish
student loans that the teachers union would panic and require the state
legislatures to fully reinstate state subsidies at least for in state
students so college will then become as cheap as what your grandparents
paid for it only one year after student loans are ABOLISHED!!
Pell grants need fixing
Beginning in Spring 2014 semester all students who fail
a majority of their classes will be required to REPAY their Pell grants
because of a MISTAKE in the Pell grant law.
The Pell grant law needs to be changed so that the clause that requires
students to repay their Pell grants AFTER they fail a majority of their
classes is replaced with the clause:
BEFORE any student applies for or receives any Pell grant a High School
Exit Exam including an algebra TEST must be completed to show that that
student is already prepared to succeed in college!!
