A SOLDIER'S WORK IS NEVER DONE; HE JUST CHANGES DUTIES

*After I was injured in Basic Training at Ft. Polk LA., and following a few days in the hospital, I returned to my unit; later the base commander decided that, as I showed no fear of the challenges in boot camp, he ordered that I be summarily promoted to acting sergeant of my training platoon during Advanced Infantry Training at the same location(AIT), following LPC.

Note:The city of Leesville, LA. is home to the Fort Polk U.S. Army installation. I successfully completed my duties at Ft. Polk and went off to Viet Nam where I served as a mortarman, infantryman and later as a musician.

This date, March 1, 2015, an apparent Army soldier reminds me of my training days and perhaps he suggests that my present role as a defender of liberty and human rights are consistent with my years as a soldier in the United States Army.

I could not have imagined then that almost a half century later I would rely on the training provided to me by the US Army at Ft. Polk, LA., to fight (in an Intellectual sense) the assassins and cowards of the fbi,cia,dod,etc.
