Fraudulant debits came out of my account from "Sony Finance"
I don't have any type of relationship with "Sony Finance" and don't have any upcoming pending debits from my bank card this week, so I was completely shocked to see these charges come out of my bank account and when I called my bank they told me that the charges came through on my debit visa card and that the customer service rep I spoke with said she had a few other calls from other customers with phony charges from "Sony Finance". She asked me where did I use my card in the last few weeks and I told her I used my card online and in store at Express, Victoria's Secret, The Limited, Publix, and a few other places. She then said my card number must've been compromised somehow and I closed my card. Also, I put these fraudulent debits in "dispute" with my bank so the charges would be taken off my account. I will have to go to a bank branch and get a new card issued to me. This is very inconvenient and scam artists need to earn a living and earn their income "legally" just like the rest of us.

My sympathies - I'm going through a similar thing with Visa. Some kind of compromise happened and charges were made in this city, but around 15 to 30 miles away.
You have to do everything in writing. I made my claim by phone and it didn't seem to work, and the instructions on the back of the bill said to do it with paper. My bad. So I've done it in paper and hope it turns out OK.
Target recently had a major compromise, so if you used a card at Target between Nov. 25th and a week ago, your card might need to be replaced.
