LOS ANGELES, CA – This coming weekend, please join anarchists and hundreds of community members in celebrating resistance to empire, in remembering fallen friends and comrades, and being in solidarity with those political prisoners who risked their lives for a better world.

The 2013 Los Angeles Anarchist Bookfair Collective brings together voices from many communities through music, workshops, skill sharing and speakers, to strategize for the future ahead. This years bookfair is dedicated to the memory of Herman Wallace.

In a time when families and communities across this country, and indeed the world, are struggling more and more to just survive, it is imperative that we send a message of rebellion against an utterly corrupt political system, owned by the corporate class whom routinely spies on us, in conjunction with what has become a totalitarian surveillance police state.

They are afraid of all of us, of the people, and the testament to their fear is their increased repression, their illegal assassinations, their secret torture chambers, their spying, their willful violation of the law when it applies to them, and their desire to whitewash it all through their subservient lap dogs in the corporate press.

Los Angeles has always been a place of creativity and a place of rebellion. Anarchist ideas and practice are more important now than ever before, as we face an uncertain world in which capitalism may literally destroy the biosphere on which all life depends.

How we create collective counter power against an empire content to destroy the world for the greed of the 1% is our challenge. We hope you will join us in asking the questions, finding the answers and discovering the joy and power of solidarity.

For a full schedule of workshops, speakers and vendors, please visit our website at http://la.anarchistbookfair.com

Admission to the bookfair is free of charge

This years bookfair is sponsored by Cielo Galleries, PM Press, KPFK 90.7 FM, and the Los Angeles Chapter of the Anarchist Black Cross Federation
