FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

In partnership with Councilmember Englander, C.I.C.L.E. Presents: Wild, Wild West Chatsworth Ride!

Four legs and two wheels! Join C.I.C.L.E. for a western themed ride through Chatsworth and share the road with more than just cars! Grab your hats, boots, chaps and lassos for this dusty, western ride!

The ride will start at the Chatsworth Depot Metrolink Station where participants can enjoy light snacks and explore historic memorabilia. We will make several stops. The first stop will be at the pioneer-era Homestead Acre and Chatsworth History Museum for an introduction and tour. Other stops will include the Munch Box, a roadside hamburger stand from the 1950s that is now a cultural historic landmark, as well as the ranch where the 1950’s TV show “Mr. Ed” was filmed. The final stop will include a visit to Stoney Point Ranch where participants will be provided with a presentation on horses and equestrian safety, an integral component of navigating the community.

You won’t want to miss this exciting, western ride! As with all Urban Expeditions, this ride is under 8 miles, family-friendly, leisurely paced and will return to the starting point.

This community bike ride is in partnership with Los Angeles Councilmember Mitchell Englander, whose district includes the scenic Chatsworth area, whose rocky hills and equestrian ranches served as the backdrop of countless western films. The bike ride is the February “CD 12 Year of Healthy Living” activity, Councilmember Englander’s monthly series of community events and activities meant to offer families in the community a fun way to get healthy. The events range from community hikes, walks and bike rides, to informational events on nutrition, healthcare and financial health.

We will be raffling off prizes. Please bring cash if you would like to enter to win! Free snacks and refreshments provided by Alliance Beverage Partners, Western Bagel of Chatsworth, and a raffle prize generously donated by REI Northridge.
