24 hour animal hospital in Mission Viejo reported to be caught in extortion racket

An undercover investigator and animal rights activist reports that Mission Viejo Urgent Animal Care on Hillcrest has been caught engaging in strong arm tactics to force pet owners to pay exorbitant prices for minor treatment of their animals.

When the owners say they can’t or won’t pay those rates and decide to go elsewhere in non-life threatening situations, the staff at Mission Viejo Urgent Animal Care threatens to file abuse charges with animal control. If the owners don’t pay, Mission Viejo Urgent Animal Care follows through.

This center has a history of forcing owners to agree to a $1200 minimum guarantee for minor treatment and of charging thousands to easily remove a weed out from the ear of a dog.

Pet owners are calling for the removal of the business and veterinary licenses of this establishment and advising unsuspecting individuals to stay clear of the facility.
