Here's some Hollywood bullshit that will get you more supportive of authentic actions like Occupy Oakland.
Michelle Phillips, of the Mamas and the Papas, is hosting a private invite only party to her friend's Occupy movie project. It's a fundraiser. And it looks like not only wasn't Occupy LA invited,
OWS in NYC sent a press release with the dirty details:
"Back in February, Mikal misrepresented himself to InterOccupy and to Noam Chomsky and inserted his HB/OTB brand into the conversation held over InterOccupy’s call platform. When InterOccupy learned he was attempting to make a radio show from this material, Mikal ceased contact. InterOccupy also found out that Mikal was using their name is pitch a television show about Occupy. "
This is lame. It's as lame as the occupy.com online magazine project. Lots of hype, but it's just a lame effort to aggregate the "occupy" audience. The real movement is still out there doing real shit, and still getting ignored.

It is disheartening to read the new language of Occupy and then to see it being spin and branded. And who made this mission set? Why don't you do something a bit more useful, like start a community garden in the city, or open your doors to a real people that needs a place to live. Have you actually been to a OLA GA? And I wonder who the checks and cash from this fundraiser will truly go to? ~~~ Sorry, but a closed event like this is opposite of the Occupy movement~.

mikal kamil has no connection with occupy wall street and is using the names of ows members without their knowledge. he DOES NOT represent Occupy. this man is a fraud and the money donated will not help occupy in any way.
