SB 810, a single payer healthcare bill, was defeated in the California Senate Jan 31, 2012 by Democratic Senators Ron Calderon, Lou Correa, Alex Padilla, Michael Rubio, Juan Vargas and Rod Wright, all bought and paid for by the insurance industry and most bought and paid for by the drug industry. The health care crisis is so terrible in this country that it is best called a death system, not a health care system. Only Peace & Freedom Party and the Green Party support socialized medicine and at the very least, single payer healthcare.

Here are the figures on these Democrats' contributions from the Insurance Industry, Big Pharma and Health Professionals:

Senator Name Insurance Big Pharma Health Prof
Ron Calderon $165,000 $80,000 $37,000
Lou Correa $150,000 $110,000 $89,000
Alex Padilla $137,000 $67,000 $105,000
Michael Rubio $36,000 $94,000
Juan Vargas $115,000 $28,000 $46,000
Rod Wright $87,000 $45,000 $43,000

Note: Only Rubio did not take from Big Pharma, but like all the others, he did take contributions from the insurance industry.

We need a strong health care bill for single payer health care or better yet, fully socialized medicine paid for with our tax dollars from cradle to grave available on demand by anyone who asks, paying for all medical procedures, abortion, birth control, all drugs, dentistry, optometry, acupuncture, physical therapy of all kinds and the like, on the November 2012 ballot or if not possible, the November 2014 ballot.

Some 50% of personal bankruptcies are due to inability to pay medical bills. People do not receive urgently needed medical care because they do not have the money and have no insurance. Insurance is too high and covers too little.

The only parties that fight loudest and hardest for socialized medicine and single payer healthcare are
1. Peace and Freedom Party

and
2. Green Party
