On Jan. 16, as the nation honored the life and work of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., the group United for a Fair Economy released a report titled, “State of the Dream 2012: The Emerging Majority." The report finds that in the year 2042, when people of color will collectively represent the majority of the U.S. population, the economic divide between racial groups will likely remain, and may get considerably worse if current economic policies of the last three decades are unchanged.
