Rocky Anderson and The Justice Party in 2012

by marc Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011 at 6:49 AM
mbatko@yahoo.com

Rocky Anderson, former mayor of conservative Salt Lake City, is running for president on The Justice Party. He decries how Obushka has "completely betrayed his base."

In the Internet age where the impossible becomes possible, citizens could vote for The Justice Party just as they can vote on AmericansElect.com. As prejudice can be a stepping stone to the event of understanding, the helplessness of the two corporate parties can be a stepping stone to an emergency alternative (cf. Hans-Georg Gadamer's "Truth and Method").

Economics changes. Once savings was the elixir and then spending. Having the presidency dominated by the Bush family is as bizarre as the financial sector dominating the two parties and Goldman Sachs effectively running the Treasury (and the world) into the ground!

Government of, for and by the people means ensuring everyone shares and participates in the project. Meaningful work must be constantly created and shared, the environment protected as our partner and future, roles exchanged and the future welcomed and anticipated. Education is the great transformer (cf. John Kenneth Galbraith). Life is full of supernova explosions and stars remain invisible until they find their partner star. The universe of possibilities must not be sacrificed to world denial, resignation, nihilism and spiritless hopelessness. We are called to be active subjects, not passive objects.

The old gives way to the new as the snow gives way to the spring (Rilke).

The swan that floats and doesn't sink represents the intransitory in the transitory (Heidegger).

Wrong forever on the throne and truth forever on the scaffold - and yet that scaffold sways the future!

The light shines in the darkness, not only above the darkness. Hearts of stone can become hearts of flesh. The future is anticipated and protected in the present, not extrapolated from the present (cf. Jurgen Moltmann, Theology of Hope).
