Fox Shareholder's Meeting

by Tracy Rosenberg Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011 at 9:50 AM

Join Good Jobs LA, Brave New Foundation, Common Cause, Free Press, NABET-CWA, The Media and Democracy Coalition, Media Alliance, and Media Action Center to send a message to Murdoch, his investors and the rest of the world: ?News Corp. is Not Above the Law.?

What do survivors of 9/11, David Beckham, and Paul McCartney have in common?

They all claim their phones were hacked by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. in a scheme to obtain personal information, which allegedly involved bribing police..

What would happen if a regular citizen illegally hacked into the phones of Sept. 11th survivors for personal information, bribed law enforcement officials, and then tried to cover it up? They certainly wouldn’t get off scot-free.

Rupert Murdoch would love for this scandal to stay quiet during his share holders meeting Friday, but we can’t let that happen.

It’s clear that News Corp. will stop at nothing to cover over the mounting evidence that the company is ruled by a rogue culture. Just yesterday another company executive stepped down after getting snagged by an investigation into inflated circulation numbers for the Wall Street Journal.

And it doesn’t end there. News Corp. has been implicated in the bribery of foreign law enforcement officials, the hacking of Sept. 11 victims’ phone lines, the cover-up of an Internet hacking scandal in the U.S. and numerous other offenses.

But this scandal is too big to go away,

Join Good Jobs LA, Brave New Foundation, Common Cause, Free Press, NABET-CWA, The Media and Democracy Coalition, Media Alliance, and Media Action Center to send a message to Murdoch, his investors and the rest of the world:

"News Corp. is Not Above the Law.”

When: Friday, October 21; 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
Where: Fox Studios at 10201 W. Pico Blvd.
Century City, Los Angeles.
(Street parking is available on Motor Ave).

RSVP: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=212536538812548

Fox News probably won’t show up, but you should!
