ACLU-SC May Day Queer Contingent

I got this in my email from ACLU. They make an important point that LGBT issues don't figure in immigration reform. For one, same sex domestic partners aren't granted family reunification rights, leaving them in perpetual limbo. Also, LGBT people face severe oppression in some countries, but can't gain refugee status - despite the fact that their governments threaten them with death.

March with us this Sunday! Join the queer contingent for the May Day march and action. Let’s make sure Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender and Queer issues are addressed in any immigration reform and workers’ rights agenda! Remember to wear red.

March begins at Olympic/Broadway. Look for the Queer Contingent Banner.

COME OUT!

LGBTQ issues rarely figure significantly in any immigration reform discussions and policies.
