In response to city attorney Carmen Trutanich's threat to throw the Todos Somos Arizona protesters into prison for a year, for political protest.

LA ACTIVISTS: URGENT CALL TO ACTION!

Stop City Atty. Carmen Trutanich’s Unprecedented Crackdown of Political Protesters
Remind LA we need more protests, not fewer!

...What: Pre-trial hearings (help us pack the court!) and press conference

Who: Join Todos Somos Arizona and others targets of Trutanich’s crackdown on political protesters!

Where: Downtown Criminal Courts Building, 210 W. Temple Blvd. (corner of Broadway and Temple), 5th floor, Division 40
Press conference to follow at 11:30 on Temple St. entrance

When: Monday, Feb. 14 at 10 a.m.

Why: Help us send a message that we need more protests, not fewer! We will not be silenced! The human rights of millions of immigrants and other people of color continue to be violated through the U.S. immigration enforcement regime every day, and hundreds of thousands of human beings are torn away from their loved ones every year in the U.S. through detention and deportation. Friday’s LA Times article “Los Angeles gets tough with political protesters” http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-protester-prosecution-20110211,0,3758689.story?page=1 has sparked hundreds of comments, calls to Trutanich and inspired two LA Times columnists to call for Trutanich to stop prosecutions against activists who stand up for justice.
