Alexander says he has a plan that will create employment for working people; he refers to his plan as “A Better Deal.” Alexander’s plan would create employment in housing restoring existing homes and building low income housing; automobile manufacturing building electric cars and light rail automobiles; building mass transportation; and repairing the nation’s infrastructure. Establishing a Universal Basic Income (UBI) is one unique element of A Better Deal. Alexander is proposing a UBI that will help to relieve poverty and homelessness.

After the U.S. Labor Department posted the latest labor report showing labor demands still holding at very weak levels, U.S. Presidential Candidate Stewart Alexander says President Barack Obama has failed to create jobs for working people. Stewart Alexander is the former Vice Presidential Nominee for Socialist Party USA and is presently seeking the 2012 Presidential Nominations for the Peace and Freedom Party-California, Green Party USA and Socialist Party USA.

The recent numbers from the Labor Department showed the number of positions waiting to be filled decreased by 80,000 to 3.25 million. Job openings in November were revised to the 3.25 million levels, down from the original report of 3.33 million.

The Labor Department report also showed that the numbers for the unemployed remained high at 14.5 million. Stewart Alexander says “The real numbers for the unemployed are well above 26 million when counting the unemployed who have given up searching for work, unemployed students, teens and seniors searching for part-time employment.”

After serving two years in office, President Obama has failed to introduce a plan that will create jobs for the tens of millions that are presently out of work or under-employed. The president’s Cash for Clunkers program only added to the nation’s debt. Within the past two years, the president and Congress have created an additional $4 trillion of debt for working people, while making wealthy billionaires richer.

Establishing a Universal Basic Income (UBI) is one unique element of A Better Deal. Alexander is proposing a UBI that will help to relieve poverty and homelessness.

Approaching 2012, Stewart Alexander is hoping to gain support from five political parties that he says will be crucial to his campaign to become president; the Peace and Freedom Party-California, Socialist Party USA, The Green Party of the United States, Freedom Socialist Party, and Liberty Union Party-Vermont. Alexander says “I am hoping to make 2012 a win for the progressive left and working people.”

The Green Party USA, Peace and Freedom Party, Socialist Party USA, Freedom Socialist Party, and Liberty Union Party are political parties that work to preserve the rights for working people. The five parties support the guaranteed right of all workers to organize and to strike, support useful jobs for all at union pay levels, equal pay for equal work, a guaranteed dignified income for those who cannot work and a Universal Basic Income to alleviate poverty and homelessness.
