The ABCs of Marx’s Capital
Thursday, December 2, 2010
Solidarity Hall, 2170 W. Washington Blvd., Los Angeles

Every day when you go to work your labor creates wealth, but you’re still broke. Why? Karl Marx answers that question in Capital, his book that demystifies capitalist economics.

A panel of working class scholars will present a multi-media overview of how Marx’s ideas are relevant today, including an animated short called Marx for Beginners, based on the book by Mexican cartoonist Rius.

Discuss why Marxists consider the claim that there is no money for schools, Social Security and social services to be a hoax.

At 6:30pm there will be a hearty lasagna supper, with vegetarian option, served for an $8 donation. Solidarity Hall is off the 10 freeway at Western, on bus lines 35, 207, 550.
