The owner Vincent Castro of the Toyota El Cajon dealership in the San Diego area is fighting the workers compensation claims of many workers at the dealership who have been seriously sickened by mold at the dealership. It is a criminal felony to deny the liability costs of workers injured on the job.

“I think they were a little rough,” agreed another dealer, Troy Duhon, who employs 180 people at Toyota dealerships in New Orleans and Poway, California. He said new car sales at his business were down 15 percent compared with last year.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said that from 2000 to mid-May, it had received more than 6,200 complaints involving sudden acceleration in Toyota vehicles. The reports include 89 deaths and 57 injuries over the same period. Previously, 52 deaths had been suspected of being connected to the problem.

This report from Niosh listed below shows that even after remediaton at Toyota of Poway levels of mold are higher then outside levels, also several molds were detected inside that were not found during outside comparison sampling

This misinformation continues to place employees and customers in Sick Buildings. Both should be made aware and given the option before entering the buildings. I would suggest postings at entrances to the buildings as tolerances to molds and direct health effects differ per individual. The amount of current health complaints against the building are not that of chance. Several reports from the GAO, WHO and Lawrence Berkley National Laboratory all show an increase in sickness caused from exposure to wet damp buildings Andrew Bryson's Industrial Hygienist report states after his inspection "one of the beams holding the roof up is sagging, possibly from the excess weight of the water that accumulated and pooled over this space" "There is strong suspicion that the slab is wet and retaining moisture"
http://moldtruth.wordpress.com/the-corvel-report/ A phone call To SDGE informed me that the Gas to the used Car Building 13750 Poway Rd was shut off September 2006 and was not turned back on until January of 2009 This allowed the buildings climate to remain uncontrolled for nearly three years providing Molds, Fungus and other inhabitants the perfect climate to reproduce and cause both extensive building damage and documented health issues. The ability to completely remove all mold spores is impossible after this length of degradation, many if not all buildings in this condition are torn down. This building is also scheduled to be torn down within the next 15-18 months as the dealership plans to move. Pictures taken of workers simply painting over wet drywall would point to the fact the dealer is trying to cover up mold until the new dealership is constructed. Carpet removed from the new car building from water damage was simply removed and replaced without cleaning the concrete. The use of trailers would provide a temporary and safe environment for both customers and employees while the new buildings are constructed. The Used car building was reopened under new ownership by the previous General Manager Rick Gallegher in October 2008 the building and its inhabitants went three months without any airflow thru the building. Several space heaters were used in the building during this time. Rick Gallegher after becoming ill himself has told several employees the reason he closed the used car building in 2006 was because of Mold, Water Damage, And a Gas leak under the Building. The gas line was rerun above the ground and over the roof in January 2009 I would call into question if it is up to code as it was done by a customer who asked why we did not have any heat. The building has had several non professional remodels over the years. The building is littered with extension cords and outlets over loaded with multiple power strips. I would request that an inspection be done by OHSA to insure the health of unknowing employees and unknowing customers. I'm aware that a fax was sent to the dealership prior from OHSA that has not corrected the overall problem. I have also spoken with several other employees and they did not see the OHSA noticed posted "You are required to post a copy of this letter and a copy of your response to the Division in a prominent location in your workplace where it is readily accessible for employee review for at least three days or until the hazard is corrected."
