The City of Carson has just achieved another milestone in ordinance making. On July 15, the city has just declared Carson as a drug-free city. In a simple but well attended program that was held at the front courtyard of Carson City Hall, the City officials led by Mayor Jim Dear and Elito Santarina, Mayor Pro tem unveiled the drug-free city warning sign acclaimed by the cheering public. On April 16, 2010 the Carson City Council unanimously voted to adopt an ordinance that declared Carson as a “drug-free city and to provide enhanced penalties for the manufacture, sale, distribution, possession and illegal use of controlled substances.

CARSON UNVEILS DRUG FREE CITY WARNING SIGNS
Carson—The City of Carson has just achieved another milestone in ordinance making. On July 15, the city has just declared Carson as a drug-free city.
In a simple but well attended program that was held at the front courtyard of Carson City Hall, the City officials led by Mayor Jim Dear and Elito Santarina, Mayor Pro tem unveiled the drug-free city warning sign acclaimed by the cheering public.
On April 16, 2010 the Carson City Council unanimously voted to adopt an ordinance that declared Carson as a “drug-free city and to provide enhanced penalties for the manufacture, sale, distribution, possession and illegal use of controlled substances.
Including in the ordinance is the a series of Special Monitoring Areas (SMA’s) and the placement of the warning signs that says “ Drug Free City along city limits.
A Haka Dance was performed by Maoris of New Zealand. Youths from AADAP who speak-out on the program voiced out their support for the drug-free ordinance.
